Irene Guerriero is a Ph.D. student in “Bioengineering and Robotics - curriculum Bionanotechnologies” at the University of Genoa. She is carrying out her doctoral activity in the laboratory of Nanotechnology for Precision Medicine directed by Professor Paolo Decuzzi at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. The aim of her Ph.D. research program is to study the synthesis and characterization of polymeric nano-and microparticles, and micromeshes to treat glioblastoma multiforme.
She achieved her MSc Degree in Biomedical Engineering - curriculum Bionanotechnologies in July 2021 at the Polythecnic University of Turin, discussing the thesis “Design and characterization of an injectable hydrogel for cellular reprogramming”. This work was performed within BIORECAR ERC project, aimed at the development of an injectable bioactive and biodegradable hydrogel releasing bioactive agents stimulating cardiac regeneration.
