Elda Sala was born in Milan, and studied at Politecnico di Milano. She got her Bacherlor degree in Ingegneria dei Materiali e Nanotecnologie (2020) with the thesis: Influence of graphene oxide on C₂S hydration kinetics. She then obtained her MSc degree in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology (2022). During her master thesis work, carried out at the Center for Nano Science and Technology (CNST, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Milan), she worked on charge transport properties of sp-carbon based semiconductors within the main field of organic electronics. The thesis title was: Stability and Charge Transport Investigation of Cumulenic sp-Carbon Wires for Organic Electronics.
She has started her doctoral studies in November 2022 at Politecnico di Milano and CNST, in the Printed and Molecular Electronics group supervised by Dr. Mario Caironi. Her PhD research focuses on sp-carbon based materials and their possible organic electronics applications.
